Fantasy College Hockey is a simple, web-based game that allows you to have a fantasy team of college hockey players. The object of the game is collect as many points as you can.

Overview
In Fantasy College Hockey, you are a GM (General Manager) who controls a virtual team of college hockey players. You join a league with other GM's and compete for the highest point total over the course of the season.

You have a bench and an active roster. You will receive points if a player is on your active roster at the time the puck drops in a game. You can move players between your active roster, your bench, and the free agent pool using the GM tools provided. You are not able to pick up players who are on other users' rosters or within twelve hours of the start of a game in which their team is playing.

Statistics are compiled automatically the morning after the game. You can monitor your progress against the rest of the league using the League Home.

Rosters
In the game, you have an active roster and a bench. Each contains six forwards, four defensemen, and two goalies. There is also a free-agent pool. Each player can only be on one GM's roster at a time. If a GM drops a player into the free agent pool, that player is immediately available to other GM's to pick up.

Roster Moves
You can move players freely between your active roster, your bench, and the free-agent pool using the tools available on the GM Home page. You can only move players between the bench and the free agent pool, or the bench and the active roster - if you want to drop an active-roster player into the free agent pool altogether, you have to drop him from the active roster to the bench, then from the bench to the free agent pool. Players may not be moved within twelve hours of the start time of a game in which their team is playing; this is to prevent GM's from starting a player at 7pm, dropping him at 7:30 and picking someone else up for an 8:00 game.

You can make as many moves as you would like within those guidelines. For example, if one of your active-roster players starts a game at 7:00 EST, you will not be able to move him to the bench or drop him until 7:00 AM. However, if a player is on your active roster but does not play until 9:00 EST (such as a game in the mountain time zone), you will have the opportunity to move him right up until the game time for his game, irrespective of who else is on your roster and their game times.

Furthermore you can active players for specific games then bench them the day after. There is no "week" concept as in fantasy football or the predecessor to this league.

A roster log is available and all roster moves are public.

Scoring
Results are compiled daily in the morning. You are eligible for a player's fantasy points if he is on your active roster at the moment the puck drops in a game in which his team plays. You will receive points according to the following scheme:

Similarly, a losing goalie who gives up 6 goals will receive -6 points. Goalies are not eligible for offensive points and a shutout is defined as a goalie playing 58 minutes or more, allowing zero goals, and being the winning goalie of record.

Statistics
Statistics are compiled for the previous day's games in the morning. The system will attempt to pull stats several times each morning. Results will be updated when the statistical data source is ready. A variety of tools are provided for viewing these raw statistics.

Playoffs
Playoffs will be available via the League Home page and will only be visible to members of the league. Leagues must have at least eight teams in order for playoffs to operate. At noon the day the playoffs commence, teams will be seeded by total points. Playoffs operate on a weekly cycle, from noon to noon, but the final round encompasses two weeks to account for the one week waiting period before the Frozen Four. . The top point earner in each head-to-head period will advance, and the winner will inherit the higher seed. There are three playoff rounds. Otherwise all game rules apply - individual leagues are encouraged to devise their own rules for disbursing players from eliminated teams, etc.
